China Gunpowder is one of the most popular green teas. It has a long history and it is an aromatic green tea. The word "Gunpowder" comes from tea's appearance, as it resembles gunpowder. The young leaves are rolled and they keep the aroma nicely inside the leaves. The leaves open up in hot water providing a strong, a bit smokey but still a bright cup of excellent tea. With the first steeping the leaves open up and by the second and third steeping the rest of the tea's flavors are released.
Steeping instructions: 1-2 tea spoons of tea / 2 dl of water. Water temperature 80 degrees, steeping time 2-3 minutes. For the next steepings add 30 seconds to the steeping time. This tea has a refreshing and relaxing character, it's excellent for an after work companion.
